Operations Administrator - Manufacturing

Join a 2026 AFR BOSS Best Places to Work Gold Winner and 2026 Sustainability Champion recognised by the World Steel Association. Play a key role in supporting the day-to-day operations of our Newcastle Wire Mill.

 

Reporting to the Production Manager, and based onsite at our Newcastle Wire Mill in Mayfield, you will provide critical administrative support to your supervisors.

You will be someone who enjoys staying organised, can confidently manage competing priorities, and takes pride in delivering accurate and timely support across a busy manufacturing environment.

 

This is a permanent full-time onsite position working 7:30am – 4pm with some flexibility on start/finish times occasionally if required.

 

What you will be doing:

  • Entering and maintaining production, maintenance, safety and payroll-related data
  • Processing SAP transactions including purchase requests, invoices and maintenance closeouts
  • Supporting supervisors with reporting, documentation and daily administrative tasks
  • Managing PPE and site consumable orders, stocktakes and supplier follow-ups
  • Coordinating label printing requirements for Newcastle operations
  • Maintaining first aid cabinet stock levels and supporting site compliance activities

What you will bring:

  • Previous experience in an administrative or coordination role.
  • Strong computer skills and the ability to learn SAP and other web-based systems
  • Excellent organisation skills with the ability to manage deadlines and multiple priorities
  • High attention to detail and accuracy when handling data entry and reporting tasks
  • A proactive attitude with the confidence to communicate effectively with supervisors, suppliers and the wider team
