Reporting to the Process and Reliability Engineer and based at our Newcastle Mesh Facility you will play a key role in maximising plant reliability by planning, scheduling and coordinating maintenance activities across the Newcastle Mesh site. You’ll manage the maintenance backlog and planning horizon, ensuring work is safely and efficiently prepared with the right materials, resources, documentation and controls in place.
The role also provides hands-on technical and reliability support to maintenance and operations teams, including breakdown troubleshooting, shutdown planning and continuous improvement initiatives.
What you will be doing:
- Design, implement, and manage a proactive maintenance planning and scheduling systems, both Mechanical and Electrical
- Build preventative maintenance schedules for all equipment on site
- Develop asset registers, job plans, bill of materials and maintenance procedures
- Schedule preventive, corrective, and predictive maintenance activities including proactive, scheduled asset downtime activities
- Coordinate with production teams to minimize disruption during maintenance windows
- Collaborate with tradespeople, production, and leadership to drive continuous improvement in maintenance planning
This is a permanent full-time role with some flexibility in start time at either 8am or earlier.

Our ideal candidate will have:
- Relevant trade qualification and/or tertiary engineering qualification (ideally mechanical, electrical or similar), with formal maintenance planning or reliability qualifications highly regarded.
- Proven experience in maintenance planning within an industrial or manufacturing environment
- Strong understanding of maintenance practices and asset management principles.
- SAP PM experience, or other preventative maintenance systems experience
- Experience with risk assessment, contractor management and supervision, and maintenance execution will be highly regarded.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with experience applying root-cause analysis, FMEA or other reliability improvement methodologies.
