About our team

Liberty Steel Wire, a member of GFG Alliance, services the Rural, Construction and Manufacturing sectors with manufacturing facilities in Newcastle, Geelong and Jindera.

About the role

Our Infrabuild business based in Newcastle is on the lookout for an experienced Electrician. Reporting into the Maintenance Supervisor, you will liaise with key stakeholders across the site. This is a good opportunity to join a growing team within an exciting industry.

Key responsibilities of the role include:

  • Ensure that the planned maintenance work is completed in safe and efficient manner
  • Ensure that the equipment is in good operating condition through regular electrical maintenance
  • Develop electrical maintenance schedules for various plant installations 
  • Undertake daily review of plant performance.


This role requires you to work across 3 shift rotations- night, day and afternoon over 5 days.

About your experience

We are looking for someone with proven ability to work within an onsite maintenance team delivering successful outcomes around equipment reliability and production plans. The ideal candidate will possess strong problem-solving skills and be able to provide knowledge and leadership in the event of an electrical breakdown.

We are looking to speak to candidates with:

  • Electrical trade certification essential
  • Forklift/high risk, confined space etc certificates will be advantageous
  • Experience in reviewing plans with specifications, wiring and cable location diagrams
  • Demonstrated ability to locate and repair electrical malfunctions and defective parts- troubleshooting is key
  • Experience with identifying and reporting equipment failures
  • Heavy industry manufacturing or other similar industry experience would be highly advantageous.
