Despatch Coordinator

About the role

As our Despatch Coordinator, you will be responsible for efficient loading schedules, accurate documentation, and smooth despatch operations at our Mesh facility in Mayfield. You need to be self-motivated and able to work alone.

 

Key responsibilities include:

 

  • Despatching of all loads through SAP
  • Ensuring required fleet matches delivery plan
  • Accurate despatch of correct order to customers
  • Daily liaison with customers, the planning team and the project management team with notification of changes to the delivery plan, concerns on site and proof of delivery requests
  • Preparation of delivery paperwork and general administrative duties
  • Managing driver and wait times with an expectation to reduce yard wait time
  • Providing direction and coordination of schedules and workloads of loaders
  • Performing load checks and auditing of loads and load restraint
  • Sign off safety checklists
  • Adhering to all relevant health and safety policies, standards, procedures and legislative requirements

 

Our ideal candidate will have knowledge of the transport/heavy vehicle industry and be a highly organised team player with exemplary attention to detail and an operational background.
 

  • Have experience and/or knowledge of the transport industry and understand load compliance (essential)
  • Communicate effectively and engage with stakeholders, including customers, customer service, fulfilment and other cross‑functional teams
  • Be highly focused on safety and adhere to all policies, standards, procedures and legislative requirements
  • Be reliable, punctual, committed and be able to work autonomously
  • Be process orientated and demonstrate a high level of resilience
  • Be computer literate and have experience with Microsoft Office and SAP
  • Load restraint, forklift and overhead crane knowledge desirable (or willing to learn)
