About the role

We are looking for a safety-focused and reliable Oxy Cutter to join our Laverton team. This is a hands-on role responsible for using oxy fuel cutting equipment to safely cut and process steel and scrap metal to required sizes, supporting efficient yard and operational activities.
Working as part of an experienced team, you’ll operate in an industrial environment where safety, teamwork and getting the job done right are key.
What you will be doing:
- Safely operate oxy-fuel cutting equipment to cut and process steel and scrap metal
- Cut material to required sizes and specifications
- Inspect and maintain cutting equipment to ensure safe operation
- Identify hazards and follow all site safety procedures
- Assist with general yard and operational activities as required
- Work collaboratively with operators and other members of the site team
- Maintain a clean and safe work area
Pay rate – $44.81 per hour, plus super, plus 1% site allowance, plus 15% for afternoon shift, plus $300 wellbeing allowance per year, plus regular overtime!

What you will bring:
- Previous oxy cutting, scrap metal, metal fabrication or heavy industrial experience
- Confidence using oxy-fuel cutting equipment
- Strong commitment to safety and safe work practices
- Ability to perform physically demanding work in an outdoor/industrial environment
- Reliable, practical and team-focused approach
- Relevant tickets/licences where required for the site
