Senior Management Accountant
About the role
The Senior Management Accountant will act as a trusted advisor to management of the eight ARC Metalcentre branches and other key stakeholders providing commercial leadership and governance, strategic fact-based commercial insights and relevant, accurate and timely financial management advice and operational and investment decision support to help the business deliver on its targets.
This is achieved against a backdrop of a thorough understanding of the current state of the business and delivering reliable annual budgets and periodic forecasts, whilst also having full responsible for preparing of month journals, P&L review and branch reporting.
Job Specific Responsibilities:
- End‑to‑end ownership of month‑end journals and balance sheet reconciliations for ARC Metalcentre; support month‑end processes for Steel & Tube WA.
- Deliver accurate and timely financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting for ARC Metalcentre.
- Provide commercial analysis and insight, partnering closely with ARC Metalcentre leadership on performance and planning.
- Support reporting requirements for Group Finance, external auditors, and key internal stakeholders.
- Act as the primary liaison with InfraBuild’s offshore Accounts Payable team to resolve AP issues.
- Manage ad‑hoc reporting while driving standardisation, quality improvement, and process efficiency.
- Support risk management, standardise financial procedures, and build strong relationships through active site and stakeholder engagement.
Experience, Qualifications and Competency Requirements
- Experience in either finance business partnering or management accounting with strong financial evaluation skills.
- Able to work both autonomously and in a team, in a complex, agile environment whilst juggling multiple priorities.
- Strong business acumen complimented by problem solving and analytical skills, and attention to detail.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Degree qualified; CPA or CA will be well regarded.
- SAP (or similar) and MS Office experience (including advanced Excel skills).
