Mechanical Maintenance Supervisor

About The Role

Infrabuild Manufacturing are seeking a proactive individual to join the team as a Mechanical Maintenance Supervisor at our Laverton Meltshop. In this pivotal leadership role, you’ll drive long-term, sustainable equipment reliability while maintaining the highest safety and operational standards.

You’ll lead a team of skilled mechanical tradespeople, overseeing maintenance workshops, executing mechanical maintenance strategies, and supporting production teams to achieve safe, efficient, and reliable operations. Working closely with operations and manufacturing teams, you’ll optimise planned maintenance, minimise unplanned downtime, and continuously improve plant maintainability and performance.

Your focus will include:

  • Leading by example in safety and enforcing InfraBuild’s critical risk standards.
  • Optimising maintenance schedules to eliminate equipment failures and reduce breakdown costs.
  • Improving plant maintainability and supporting faster, safer repair procedures.
  • Conducting root cause analysis and feeding insights back into maintenance strategy.
  • Managing maintenance budgets and resources effectively to drive performance.
  • Using SAP PM to ensure accurate maintenance planning, record keeping, and traceability.
  • Supporting a culture of continuous improvement across safety, quality, and efficiency.

This is a hands-on leadership position where you’ll balance strategy with practical execution — occasionally stepping in to help get the plant running again during critical breakdowns. You’ll play a vital role in ensuring our equipment runs safely, reliably, and efficiently, enabling the team to deliver high-quality outcomes every day.

You’re an energetic and self-motivated leader with a strong mechanical background and a proactive approach to safety. You thrive in fast-paced, heavy industrial environments and have a proven ability to lead and develop maintenance teams.

To be successful, you’ll bring:

  • A recognised Trade Certificate in Mechanical Fitting and Turning (or equivalent).
  • 5+ years’ experience in mechanical maintenance within a heavy industrial, manufacturing, or mining environment.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience supervising maintenance teams and coordinating shutdowns.
  • Strong technical and analytical skills, with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex equipment issues.
  • Proficiency with computerised maintenance management systems (SAP experience highly regarded).
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills, with a commitment to continuous improvement.
  • A genuine commitment to safety leadership, environmental compliance, and operational excellence.

This is a fantastic opportunity to step into a key leadership role within a high-performing team and make a lasting impact on equipment reliability and site performance.
