Injury Management / Return to Work Advisor
About The Role:
Based at the Laverton Steel Mill, this is a 12-month fixed term opportunity for an experienced Injury Management / Return to Work Advisor who thrives in a fast-paced, people-focused environment.
This role is ideal for someone who is resilient, proactive, and confident working with a wide range of stakeholders—from employees and supervisors through to senior leaders as well as insurers and medical providers. You’ll play a key role in supporting injured workers, driving effective return to work outcomes, and ensuring a positive and supportive experience throughout the process.
You’ll be at the centre of coordination, communication, and care—helping InfraBuild Manufacturing employees safely return to work while balancing business needs and compliance requirements.
In this role, you will:
- Coordinate end-to-end injury management and return to work (RTW) plans
- Build strong relationships with injured employees, supervisors, and site leaders
- Liaise closely with internal Workers Compensation teams and external insurers
- Support employees with income protection processes and manage insurer interactions
- Attend medical appointments where required and actively manage RTW outcomes
- Arrange Independent Medical Examinations (IMEs) and follow up on outcomes
- Work closely with medical providers, including onsite physiotherapy services
- Provide coaching and guidance to Supervisors and Superintendents managing injured workers
- Ensure compliance with legislative requirements and internal policies

To be successful, you will bring:
- Proven experience in injury management, RTW coordination, or similar roles
- Strong working knowledge of Workers Compensation and income protection processes
- Experience liaising with insurers, medical providers, and internal stakeholders
- Confidence working with Supervisors and leaders to manage RTW outcomes
- A resilient, proactive approach with the ability to manage multiple cases
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Strong organisational and administrative capability, including MS Office
- Experience in industrial or high-risk environments (highly regarded)
- Qualifications in Rehabilitation, Injury Management, Allied Health or similar (preferred)
