About The Role
We at InfraBuild would like to invite recent or soon-to-be graduates to take part in our 2025 Graduate Program as a Graduate Systems Engineer for our Sydney Steel Mill site.
Real Work with Real Outcomes –Our program offers a two-year fixed-term contract with the potential for permanent placement. This immersive, hands-on program provides practical learning through fundamental tasks and meaningful work on a manufacturing site where participants gain a comprehensive technical and operational skills training blend.
The program includes continuous coaching, mentorship, and formal training, allowing participants to rotate through the manufacturing sites business units. This structure ensures a thorough understanding of operations and strategic initiatives, combining on-the-job learning with formal education.
As a Graduate Systems Engineer, you will have the opportunity to:
- Dive into the intricacies of complex systems, encompassing hardware, software, and human elements.
- Gain hands-on experience in system design, integration, and optimisation.
- Explore diverse projects requiring a comprehensive understanding of interconnected components.
- Enhance your skills in project management through rotational assignments across various roles.
- Become an integral member of the site manufacturing team.

Eligibility Criteria:
- A genuine interest in Automation & Machine Learning Systems Engineering within an operational steel manufacturing and distribution environment.
- Australian/NZ citizenship OR an appropriate visa with unlimited working rights
- Completed an Australian tertiary degree in the past three years (or due to be completed in 2024)
- Less than two years of full-time, discipline-relevant work experience (part-time or unrelated work doesn’t count)
