Ferrous Operations Manager

About the role

As the Ferrous Manager at InfraBuild Recycling Laverton, you will be a pivotal member of our team, taking charge of overseeing ferrous recycling operations to ensure efficiency, quality control, and strict adherence to safety standards. This role offers a dynamic and challenging opportunity to lead and manage the ferrous operations team, implement operational improvements, and contribute to the overall success of our recycling business.

 

Some of your responsibilities will include:

 

  • Lead and guide the ferrous operations team to achieve production targets.
  • Implement and enhance operational processes to improve efficiency and productivity.
  • Ensure strict compliance with industry regulations and safety standards.
  • Implement and uphold rigorous quality control measures to guarantee the production of high-quality ferrous products.
  • Collaborate with the quality assurance team to continuously enhance product quality.
  • Optimize supply chain processes to minimize costs and maximize efficiency.
  • Cultivate a positive and collaborative team culture.
  • Provide training and development opportunities to enhance the skills and knowledge of team members.
  • Generate regular reports on production metrics, identifying areas for improvement.
  • Conduct data analysis to drive informed decision-making in ferrous operations.

 

We are seeking an individual who possesses exceptional leadership and communication skills to effectively guide, inspire and foster a positive and collaborative work culture. Strong interpersonal abilities are crucial for building rapport with customers, tailoring product and service offerings to meet specific needs, and addressing any issues that may arise. Additionally, adaptability and a proactive mindset are essential soft skills to navigate the dynamic challenges of the recycling industry and drive continuous improvement in operational processes.

 

  • Proven experience in a managerial role within the mining industry.
  • Strong knowledge of ferrous materials, production processes, and quality control (desired)
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills.
  • Working in and managing a large, multi-disciplined workforce.
  • Managing a large-scale team in a unionised environment.
  • Familiarity with safety regulations and a commitment to creating a safe working environment.
