Afternoon Shift Supervisor

About The Role

ARC (The Australian Reinforcing Company) is looking for a self-driven individual to join our Laverton branch as an Afternoon Shift Supervisor.

Reporting to the Branch Manager and based at our Laverton Branch, our Shift Supervisor will be responsible for the safety and day to day manufacturing and logistics of the shift. You will be coordinating the operational activities of the shift including management of production staff, including employee performance and safe operations, quality of work and implementation of improvement processes.. What you will be doing:

  • Lead and support Operators and Dispatch Coordinators to achieve team success
  • Drive a strong safety culture and ensure WHS compliance standards are met
  • Manage shift operations to deliver production and performance KPIs
  • Collaborate with internal teams to support smooth daily operations
  • Identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities
  • Control labour and operational costs to maximise efficiency
  • Ensure teams are appropriately trained, qualified, and resourced for safe operations

The hours for this role are 2pm – 10:30pm, Monday to Friday.

What you will bring:

  • Strong leadership skills with a hands-on, accountable management style
  • Experience in manufacturing production and planning environments
  • Sound knowledge of safety systems, hazard management, and safety culture
  • Proven ability to lead large teams and manage performance effectively
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and conflict resolution skills
  • Experience driving lean initiatives and continuous process improvement
  • Steel reinforcing or unionised workforce experience highly regarded
