Afternoon Shift Supervisor
About the role
A new opportunity to join ARC at the Laverton branch as an Afternoon Shift Supervisor. The hours for this role are 1:00 PM - 9:00 PM, Monday to Friday.
Our Shift Supervisor will be responsible for the safety and day to day manufacturing and logistics of the shift. You will be coordinating the operational activities of the shift including management of production staff, including employee performance and safe operations, quality of work and implementation of improvement processes.
Your priorities include:
- Managing a team of Operators and Despatch Coordinators
- Ensuring all WHS management system requirements are met and safety standards are maintained
- Leading and managing the shift to ensure the production and output KPIs are met
- Work collaboratively with key internal stakeholders
- Identify and report on opportunities for improvement initiatives
- Managing costs to ensure delivery is met in the most cost-effective manner
- Allocating appropriate manning and ensuring employees are trained, fit, qualified and competent to effectively run operations
About your experience
You are an experienced leader with a background in manufacturing or associated heavy industry. You will be skilled in robust safety practices, building strong internal and external relationships, responding to frequent changes in priorities and have a solution-oriented mindset.
- Experience in production manufacturing and planning
- Solid understanding of safety management systems and building the safety culture
- Hazard identification and implementing best-practice safety solutions
- Proven experience supervising or managing a large team in a manufacturing or a relevant industry
- High level problem solving, conflict resolution and people management skills
- Experience with implementation of lean systems and process improvement
- Ability to use computer systems including Microsoft suite
- Experience in the steel reinforcing sector would be highly regarded but not essential
