Non Ferrous Manager
About the role
Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Non Ferrous Manager will be accountable for the safe and reliable operation of the Hexham non ferrous yard. This role offers a dynamic and challenging opportunity to lead and manage the non ferrous operations team, implement operational improvements and contribute to the overall success of our recycling business.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Lead and guide the non ferrous operations team to achieve production targets
- Implement and enhance operational processes to improve efficiency and productivity
- Ensure strict compliance with industry regulations and safety standards
- Implement and uphold rigorous quality control measures to guarantee the production of high-quality non ferrous products
- Collaborate with the quality assurance team to continuously enhance product quality
- Optimise supply chain processes to minimize costs and maximize efficiency
- Cultivate a positive and collaborative team culture
- Provide training and development opportunities to enhance the skills and knowledge of team members
- Generate regular reports on production metrics, identifying areas for improvement
- Conduct data analysis to drive informed decision-making in ferrous operations

The foundations required to be successful in this role include:
- Proven experience in a hands on managerial role within a similar industry
- Strong knowledge of non ferrous materials, production processes, and quality control (desired)
- Excellent leadership and communication skills
- Working in and managing a large, multi-disciplined workforce
- Managing a large-scale team in a unionised environment
- Familiarity with safety regulations and a commitment to creating a safe working environment
