Reporting to the State Maintenance Manager, the Hemmant Maintenance Manager has primary responsibility for planning and coordinating the activities of the Maintenance team and provides leadership and guidance to managing maintenance issues across the site. 

 

The role is positioned to work in direct alignment with the Hemmant Branch Manager, forming a paired leadership model responsible for driving site performance, equipment reliability, and operational control. You will own asset health, maintenance discipline and reliability outcomes and share accountability for uptime, risk management and overall site performance with the Hemmant Branch Manager.

 

What you will be doing:

  • Lead and prioritise maintenance activities to maximise plant reliability and operational performance
  • Champion a strong safety culture, ensuring all maintenance works are completed safely and compliantly
  • Drive preventative and predictive maintenance strategies across fixed and mobile plant assets
  • Investigate equipment failures and implement solutions to reduce downtime and improve reliability
  • Oversee maintenance projects and shutdowns, ensuring efficient delivery and stakeholder communication
  • Develop and lead a high-performing maintenance team through coaching, capability building and performance management

What you will bring:

  • A trade or engineering qualification, with a Cert III in Manufacturing and Engineering highly regarded
  • Significant leadership experience in maintenance, manufacturing, production or a similar industrial environment
  • A passion for continuous improvement, supported by strong Lean Manufacturing and problem solving capabilities
  • The ability to lead, coach and develop high performing teams while building a positive safety culture
  • Strong expertise in maintenance planning, asset reliability and equipment performance optimisation
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence outcomes across the business
  • Experience using SAP or similar maintenance management systems
