Maintenance Coordinator

About the role

Reporting to the Continuous Improvement Lead, the Maintenance Coordinator is responsible for the preventative maintenance and breakdown support of equipment in the Regional Service Centre Network with a focus on maintaining safety and maximising uptime.

This role will resolve operational or technical equipment problems to minimize processing interruptions for the region through a combination of inhouse trades and contractors with hands-on support where required. You will communicate with operations teams and other internal stakeholders to ensure breakdowns are addressed in a timely manner. As the subject matter expert, you’ll conduct preventative maintenance inspections and provide feedback to site leaders with recommendations and follow-up actions.

This role will require state-wide travel throughout Queensland and support up to 14 sites. You will also be provided with a phone, laptop and vehicle to succeed in this role.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Plan and schedule daily routines around corrective and minor project maintenance using MAINPAC Job request system
  • Assisting Operations team and other internal stakeholders in implementing technical, safety and productivity initiatives
  • Supporting the QLD region in spares purchasing and proactively applying cost-saving measures for overseas orders where possible
  • Providing technical direction and support to trades and contractors for prompt issue resolution
  • Supervising tasks and managing contractors for high-risk activities in the region
  • Promoting a “Safety as a Core Value” mindset, ensuring accountability for outcomes

About your experience

To be successful in this role, you will have: 

  • A trade qualification (mechanical or electrical) with 5 years’ experience
  • A minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar role
  • Unrestricted Driver’s License
  • A strong knowledge of computerised maintenance management system (MAINPAC) is advantageous as well as exposure to Power BI, CMMS and ERP systems (i.e. SAP, Symix, GE, ARMA)
  • Extensive understanding of health and safety regulations and the ability to adhere to and drive
  • Strong communication, time management, decision-making and problem-solving skills
