Safety Business Partner
About the role
The Safety Business Partner will coach, mentor and support the ARC Victoria business unit and foster a strong and engaged Health and Safety function. The role is essential in embedding key safety processes, evolving a pro-active interdependent safety culture, auditing of health and safety processes and guiding the development and application of an integrated safety business model.
This is a fixed term 6 month contract with the possibility of being extended.
Key responsibilities:
- Contribute to continuous improvement in health and safety performance and respond to incident trends
- Facilitate incident investigations, hazard identification and risk assessments
- Support line leaders to ensure the effective implementation and communication of the GFG health and safety policy, standards, programs and procedures
- Ensure that business unit safety systems meet the requirements of local legislation
- Conduct audits of business process that are associated with inherently high risk activities
- Support the implementation of new health and safety initiatives, by running trainings (mainly face to face)
About your experience
Our ideal candidate will have a manufacturing/operations background with a working knowledge of OHS Systems. You will also have the ability to work autonomously and have resilience to work alongside the key stakeholders within the business to influence positive culture and get people engaged with safety.
You also have:
- Background in safety (ideally 3-5 years experience) or a background as an excellent operations leader with working H&S knowledge
- Experience in conducting risk assessments and incident investigations
- Innovative and creative approach to safety with a proactive attitude
- Compliance for safety
- Experience with being friendly and firm and being able to say when something is not right
