About the role

Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor and based at our Geelong Wire Mill site, you will have support and autonomy in a dynamic role with a variety of work throughout your day and a wealth of knowledge from an experienced team.

 

You will be responsible for managing breakdowns, preventative maintenance and improvement of the manufacturing and distribution site. The operational team is highly safety focused and process driven, and we have fun whilst improving the site.

 

This is a full-time permanent position, Monday to Friday on day shift from 7:30 am to 4:00 pm, noting that shift patterns may vary depending on business needs.

 

Base hourly rate $51.18 plus allowances.

 

What you will be doing:

  • Execution of preventative and predictive maintenance as well as attending to breakdowns if the need arises
  • Troubleshooting issues and identifying opportunities for improvement
  • Providing feedback via the maintenance management system
  • Liaison with other trades in the workshop
  • Completion of all tasks safely and to a high quality

What you will bring:

  • Trade qualified with a Cert III in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent)
  • Strong fault‑finding skills with a hands‑on approach to fixing problems
  • Able to read drawings and work confidently with hydraulics and pneumatics
  • Safety‑first team player who can work unsupervised and communicate well
  • Comfortable using computers (SAP highly regarded); shutdown and heavy industry experience a plus
