Transport Manager
About the role
Reporting to the Reinforcing Services Manager – WA, the Transport Manager is responsible for all aspects of safety, performance and leadership of despatch, freight and logistics services and driving freight improvements to optimise freight outcomes.
Key focus of the role:
- Managing transport resources across multiple sites
- Drive and hold accountability for our core values of safety and customer
- Coordinate the day to day logistics and distribution operations for deliveries
- Ensure deliveries are carried out within set timeframes and in accordance with customer requirements
- Despatching of goods to customers in accordance with delivery commitments
- Maximising efficiency of loads and containing costs
- Determining loads are executed in accordance with delivery plans
- Manage load compliance with vehicle load regulations and requirements
You will have experience in the following:
- Relevant qualification and/or equivalent of 3 years Transport management and P&L experience
- Full drivers licence with flexibility to travel to other operational sites as required
- In depth knowledge of the transport industry and regulatory requirements
- Experience driving a structured safety management system
- Strong team leadership/management experience, problem solving and customer service skills
- Knowledge of construction and heavy manufacturing industries
