About the Role

Reporting to the Pre-Fab Supervisor and based at our Forrestfield site, you will lead the day-to-day operations of our pre-fabrication team, driving safety, productivity and quality while coordinating production activities to ensure customer requirements are delivered on time.

 

What you will be doing:

  • Coordinate daily production activities, ensuring operators have the drawings, materials and resources required to keep production running efficiently.
  • Plan daily loading schedules and work closely with the Planning, Dispatch and Sales teams to ensure customer requirements are met.
  • Conduct pre-starts, safety walks and workplace observations to promote a strong safety culture and maintain a clean, organised workshop.
  • Monitor production performance, machine utilisation and timesheets, identifying issues and coordinating with Maintenance to minimise downtime.
  • Coach, mentor and support a team of Operators and Team Leaders, fostering accountability, engagement and high performance.
  • Perform visual weld inspections following company-provided training to ensure products meet quality standards prior to dispatch.
  • Contribute to performance management, continuous improvement initiatives and the ongoing development of your team.

 

Roster: Monday to Friday, 6:00am – 2:00pm, with overtime available on weekdays and weekends as required.

Pay rate: $43.27 per hour (inclusive of allowances) plus superannuation and bonus

What you will bring:

  • Demonstrated experience as a MIG Welder (essential) 
  • Experience operating an overhead crane (essential)
  • Previous leadership experience in a manufacturing, fabrication or heavy industrial environment, with the ability to motivate and lead a diverse team.
  • A strong commitment to safety, quality and housekeeping, with the confidence to address unsafe behaviours and drive a positive safety culture.
  • Excellent communication, organisational and time management skills, with the ability to work autonomously and coordinate competing priorities.
  • A Dogman, Forklift and/or First Aid qualification is highly regarded, or a willingness to obtain additional licences and competencies.
