Planning Coordinator

About the role

Reporting to the Planning Manager the Planning Coordinator is a key position within the Planning Service Team and is responsible for the daily planning requirements.  The focus of the role is to help drive efficiency and effectiveness in forecasting, loading and manufacture of product to meet customer demands, with established standards of safety, quality and timeliness. You will be the pivotal liaison person between site, dispatch, production, inventory, scheduling and the sales team to ensure that their requirements are understood and are being met within the best interest of the business.

 

This role is site based, Monday to Friday.

 

Key responsibilities for this role include:
 

  • Plan and monitor the production conditions, manufacturing and despatch requirements on a daily basis
  • Liaise and communicate with Planning Team in fine tuning the planning requirements (Finite Capacity Planning) and keep the team informed of progress
  • Delivery confirmations on Day3 to Day1 with site personnel to ensure production and loading efficiencies
  • Ensure the planning system parameters (manufacturability)/ procedures/ process are kept up to date and relevant
  • Understand customer requirements, machine capabilities and resolving customer issues
  • Work with Production and Despatch team to assist in setting short-term manning/ truck requirements
  • Liaise with Maintenance team to ensure equipment is available without impacting customer promise
  • Provide daily reports to internal stakeholders of progress against plan, reasons for divergence and the actions being taken to rectify
  • Manage production and loading plans for Operational requirements without compromising customer

 

Our ideal candidate will demonstrate excellent communication skills with a strong focus and commitment to quality, compliance and reporting requirements along with the ability to remain calm and focused in a fast paced environment.

 

Qualifications and experience:

 

  • Working knowledge of planning management systems is an advantage
  • Previous production, planning or reinforcing industry experience is desirable
  • Working knowledge of production processes within the manufacturing industry or related environment
  • Highly developed communication, negotiation and influencing skills
  • Ability to adhere to strict safety standards within a manufacturing or related industry
  • Ability to multi-task and work within time restraints and deadlines
  • Familiarity with SPARKS, JDE, ARMA or SAP is desirable
  • Strong Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications – MS Word, Excel and Outlook
