Load Planner
About the role
Based on-site at our Eagle Farm site, as our QLD multi-site Load Planner, you will generate optimised plans to execute the demand plan of steel to our customers. This is a varied role that will work closely with and assist in our Planning operations and Despatch Team.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Construct daily freight plans within a region at multiple sites
- Draft load plans to understand fleet requirements as early as possible
- Build loads with clear understanding of KPI – minimum tonnes per load per truck type
- Maximise use of fleet with multi-drops
- Understand product type and makeup to maximise use of vehicle without impacting Production/Loading Teams
- Support Prefab planning activities
- Work closely with Confirmation Planners, adjusting times where applicable for best freight outcome whilst fulfilling customer requirements
- Work closely with Production Planners managing additions/urgent work into the best freight outcome
- Ensure freight provider understands daily fleet requirements by cut off time
- Engagement and relationship with customers to confirm production and delivery requirements
- Perform Despatch functions where required

- Possess strong communication and problem-solving skills
- Have outstanding customer service, relationship management and negotiation skills
- High attention to detail and ability to manage changing priorities/schedules
- Be proactive and contribute to the success of the wider planning team
- Be competent with basic MS office suite and have the ability to learn new software systems
- Have a sound knowledge of the greater Brisbane area
