State Manager Southern
About the role
At Steelforce, we are committed to delivering trusted products, excellent service, and sustainable growth. As part of our national leadership team, we’re seeking an experienced State Manager to lead our branch network, drive performance, and deliver strategic outcomes across our Southern region.
Based at our Dandenong site, as State Manager, you will hold full commercial, sales and operational accountability of our four southern branches based in VIC, SA and Tasmania.
As a key member of the national leadership team, you will shape our transformation by building your leadership team, driving our new strategy and launching our new brand to market. This opportunity is more than maintaining momentum, this role will empower you to drive change and influence the future direction of our organisation at a senior leadership level.
This role offers strong career progression, with potential to succeed the Head of Steelforce or move into broader opportunities within the InfraBuild group. You’ll have the autonomy to lead your own operations, exposure across multiple state markets, with only light travel commitments (approximately every second month).
Key Responsibilities
- Lead operational performance with full accountability of the Southern P&L.
- Drive regional sales growth, strengthen customer relationships, and expand market share.
- Champion safety excellence and operational discipline across all branches.
- Build, coach, and empower high-performing teams and future leaders.
- Convert national strategy into pragmatic execution plans with measurable outcomes.
- Oversee governance, risk, and compliance while ensuring sustainable profitability.
About You
With a hunger to drive transformational change, our next leader will have;
- Extensive sales and/or operational leadership experience in large or multi-site operations, ideally in steel, industrial distribution, building or warehousing/supply chain/logistics
- Demonstrated P&L ownership with strong commercial and financial acumen.
- Ability to lead large and/or multi-site teams through change, growth, and complexity.
- High-level communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Tertiary qualifications in Business, Operations, Supply Chain, or Commerce (desirable).
