Health & Safety Business Partner - Southern
About the role

Reporting to the Safety and Operational Excellence Manager and based at our Dandenong branch, you will partner with operational leaders at 8 sites across Victoria, South Australia and Tasmania to strengthen safety culture, build leadership capability and drive continuous improvement in safety performance.
With a high degree of autonomy, you'll spend time in the field supporting leaders, conducting audits and investigations, providing practical coaching and ensuring our safety systems and processes are embedded and effective. This is a hands-on role where you'll work closely with frontline teams to influence positive safety outcomes across a diverse and dynamic operational environment.
What you will be doing:
- Facilitate risk assessments and provide practical solutions that support both operational performance and safety outcomes.
- Analyse safety trends and performance data to identify opportunities for improvement and proactive risk management.
- Support the development and implementation of safety initiatives aligned with legislative requirements and business objectives.
- Partner with operational leaders to implement, maintain and continuously improve safety systems, processes and compliance across multiple sites.
- Build leader capability through coaching, mentoring and practical guidance on safety leadership, risk management and incident prevention.
- Conduct site audits, inspections and verification activities to identify risks, assess controls and drive continuous improvement.
- Support and lead incident investigations, corrective actions and risk management initiatives across the business.
- Deliver safety and competency training, ensuring leaders and teams meet operational and legislative requirements.
- Build strong relationships with frontline teams and stakeholders to foster accountability and a proactive safety culture.

What you will bring:
- Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety (or equivalent) and a current driver's licence, with the ability to travel regularly between sites.
- Experience in a Health and Safety role, ideally within manufacturing, distribution, industrial or other operational environments.
- Strong interpersonal skills and a genuine interest in working alongside operational teams, building trusted relationships across both blue- and white-collar workforces.
- Excellent communication, coaching and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to gather information, facilitate discussions, deliver training and influence positive safety outcomes across all levels of the business.
- A solid understanding of safety management systems, risk management processes, incident investigations and continuous improvement practices.
- Experience conducting ICAM investigations will be highly regarded, while exposure to internal auditing of safety management systems is desirable.
- Flexibility to travel to support the region’s site teams for both planned visitations and the immediate requirements of the business.
