Branch Inventory Coordinator

About the role

Join us as a Branch Inventory Coordinator – Steelforce! You will be responsible for branch level inventory across several locations in Victoria and Tasmania. You will contribute to the success of the business by maintaining high service levels, resolving stock-outs, clearing excess inventory, and supporting efficient branch operations through proactive inventory management. This role collaborates with sales teams, warehouse operations, suppliers, and the greater Steelforce supply chain team to deliver exceptional product availability.

 

Key responsibilities include but not limited to: 

  • Deliver and maintain a minimum of 93% SKU availability at the branch level through accurate forecasting, replenishment, and stock management practices
  • Balance inventory levels to avoid overstocking and understocking, ensuring alignment with inventory budgets and business objectives
  • Collaborate closely with branch managers, sales, and central planning teams to understand demand drivers and local market dynamics
  • Execute timely inventory adjustments, stock transfers, and product rationalisations to optimise stock mix and availability
  • Support the broader supply chain function by ensuring accurate data integrity, proactive risk mitigation, and participation in continuous improvement initiatives
  • Support the branch operations team with stocktakes, blocked stock (nil picks), ensuring a high level of system inventory record accuracy

 

About your experience

 

To be successful in this dynamic role you will be an excellent communicator and confident decision maker. 

  • Experience in inventory control, purchasing and/or supply chain coordination, bonus points for experience in multi-location networks
  • Experience working with large SKU portfolio and/or in heavy industrial products
  • Strong understanding of inventory management practices and materials requirement planning
  • Experience using SAP ECC or similar ERP system for inventory management and purchasing
  • Able to collaborate cross-functionally and communicate clearly
  • APICS certification (CPIM or CSCP) is beneficial
