Account Manager
About the Role
The face of the business in the field – the Account Manager represents Steelforce through strategic account development, solution-based selling, and disciplined commercial execution. They generate demand, nurture relationships, and secure long-term customer growth through trusted service and sales leadership.
The Account Manager is responsible for managing and growing a defined portfolio of customers to drive revenue growth, improve margin, and deepen long-term relationships. Operating primarily in the field, this role executes structured call plans and identifies new business opportunities through proactive customer engagement.
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing and growing a portfolio of customer accounts, driving growth through tailored solutions and delivering an exceptional customer experience.
- Executing territory and account strategies through structured customer engagement, disciplined sales activities, and strong alignment with managers and stakeholders.
- Building strong, trust-based customer relationships through proactive engagement, solution-focused selling, and deep understanding of their business and industry needs.
- Maintaining pricing and margin discipline by applying frameworks consistently, managing discounts responsibly, and protecting profitability through sound negotiation and quoting.
- Maintaining a proactive, well-qualified pipeline and ensure accurate, real-time CRM updates to improve forecasting, prioritisation, and sales effectiveness.
Success in this role requires commercial discipline, strong customer insight, and cross-functional coordination to deliver a seamless and reliable customer experience.
About your Experience
- Experience in a customer-facing B2B sales or account management role, managing a portfolio and building long-term customer relationships
- Proven ability to deliver volume and margin targets in a competitive environment
- Strong commercial acumen, with disciplined approach to pricing and quoting
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills
- Proficient in CRM and pipeline management tools
- Industry experience in metals, mining or construction will be highly regarded
