Production Metallurgist

About the role

As a Production Metallurgist, you will play a vital role in our metallurgy team. You'll report directly to the Metallurgy Superintendent, and your primary objective will be to optimise metallurgical processes for ferro alloy and sinter production. You'll work to ensure safety, efficiency, and product quality. Collaboration with production and maintenance teams will be vital in identifying and implementing improvements while adhering to safety protocols.

 

  • Ensure process safety and compliance with procedures.
  • Investigate deviations and implement corrective measures.
  • Provide technical input across various plant operations.
  • Contribute to business planning and forecasting.
  • Monitor production units and troubleshoot issues.

About your experience

To succeed in this position, you must have excellent interpersonal skills to work effectively with different teams and stakeholders. Additionally, you should be analytical, detail-oriented, and able to troubleshoot and solve complex problems. Given the dynamic nature of production environments, it is also essential that you are resilient and adaptable.

 

  • Bachelor's degree in Metallurgical Engineering or Chemical Engineering.
  • Min. 2 years of post-graduate experience in metallurgy, preferably in alloy smelting.
  • Experience in budgeting, forecasting, and reporting.
  • Proficiency in process control systems.
  • Ability to develop common systems and standards.
