Mechanical Reliability Specialist

About the role

Reporting to the Reliability Superintendent, the Mechanical Reliability Specialist - Rotable Spares will manage the rotable and repairable spares process.

The Mechanical Reliability Specialist - Rotable Spares’ main focus is to ensure rotable spares are repaired to achieve the required level of reliability as defined by Liberty Bell Bay.

 

Other accountabilities include:

 

  • Coordinating the timely and effective offsite and onsite repair of rotable spares

  • Organizing the removal of the rotable spare to the offsite facility or organize the planning and scheduling of the rotable spare for onsite repair

  • Developing the technical capabilities at LBB for repairing specific rotable spares

  • Liaising with the repair vendor or with site personnel to develop a scope of work for repairing the rotable spares

  • Creating a QA/QC process and the necessary documents for assessing the repair process which may include repair reports, hold-points for inspection, acceptance testing, etc.

  • Identifying opportunities for improvement with existing scope of works for repairing the rotable spares

  • Following the management of change process to ensure all changes (new or old changes) to materials, drawings and other specifications are documented

  • Working with the site and vendors to initiate, execute and track the warranty process for equipment failure that may be subject to a lack of quality

Working with the site and vendors to properly package, store and maintain the rotable spares while they are not in use (wrap type, storage area, shaft rotation plan, etc.)

About your experience

You are a results focused individual with a strong focus on safety and quality. You will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills to establish and maintain effective working relationships with multiple groups of internal stakeholders, contractors and other specialists.

 

You will also have:

 

  • Mechanical or similar trades certification, a Diploma in Engineering is advantageous

  • Experienced in a similar hands on Maintenance / Manufacturing role, repairing mechanical systems

  • Detailed knowledge of principles and concepts related to operating and maintaining Fixed Plant and Mobile Equipment assets

  • Experience in condition monitoring technologies and precision maintenance techniques

  • Experience with SAP, computer literate with intermediate excel skills.

  • Demonstrate knowledge of hazard identification and risk assessment within a workplace
