Branch Manager

About The Role

As Branch Manager for ARC (The Australian Reinforcing Company) in Ballina, you will take ownership of the branch’s commercial success, leading sales growth and strengthening customer partnerships.

This is a hands-on leadership role where you’ll balance commercial performance with operational excellence. You’ll be responsible for leading a team of approximately 12 staff (permanent and contractors), creating a positive, safety-first culture while ensuring the branch delivers consistently strong results.

Working closely with regional leadership and internal teams, you’ll drive local growth strategies, optimise performance and position the branch for long-term success. Just as importantly, you’ll be an open, collaborative leader—someone who builds trust with the existing team, brings people on the journey and leads through influence.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading, coaching and developing a team while fostering a strong safety and customer-focused culture
  • Driving sales performance and identifying new business opportunities across key market segments
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with customers, contractors, suppliers and internal stakeholders
  • Managing the overall commercial performance of the branch, including financial outcomes and profitability
  • Supporting day-to-day operations to ensure production, scheduling and service delivery meet customer expectations
  • Championing safety, ensuring compliance with OHS and regulatory standards, and embedding best practices
  • Identifying and executing local growth initiatives aligned with regional strategies
  • Strengthening team capability through effective leadership, communication and ongoing development

You’re a commercially minded leader with a strong foundation in sales-driven operations. You know how to grow revenue, build lasting customer relationships and lead teams to deliver results—while maintaining a sharp focus on safety and operational performance.

You bring a collaborative leadership style and thrive in environments where you can work alongside established teams, building credibility and engagement.

You will bring:

  • Proven experience in sales-led operations, business development or account management
  • A strong track record of driving revenue growth and expanding customer bases
  • Leadership experience managing teams in operational or industrial environments
  • A commitment to safety leadership and building high-performing, engaged teams
  • The ability to lead and influence a mixed workforce, including permanent employees and contractors
  • Strong commercial acumen, with the ability to translate strategy into measurable outcomes
  • An open, approachable leadership style that values collaboration and team input
  • Ideally, experience within reinforcing steel (reo) or related industries

While prior branch management experience is advantageous, this role is well suited to a commercially driven leader ready to take the next step into a broader operational leadership position.
