About the role

We are seeking an experienced Production Operator to join our Ardrossan Dolomite Operation in Ardrossan, South Australia. This full-time position offers an exciting opportunity to apply your expertise while working in a team committed to achieving operational targets.

Location Requirement

• Applicants must either reside in or be willing to relocate to Ardrossan or the surrounding local area.

Starting on Day Shift, you will transition to a Day Shift/Night Shift roster upon completion of training. As a Production Operator, you will play a key role in various mining operations, including:

• Operating machinery in a mining environment
• Drill and blast activities
• Crushing, screening, and shipping products to customer specifications
• Identifying and implementing continuous improvement opportunities
• Troubleshooting and rectifying operational issues

This role may also involve heavy lifting, manual labour, minor maintenance tasks, and participation in competency-based training programs.

We are searching for motivated individuals who are passionate about working safely and efficiently in a dynamic environment.

Essential qualities:

• Strong commitment to safety and adherence to site procedures
• Initiative, a can-do attitude, and a willingness to work hard
• Ability to work effectively in both team settings and independently

Desirable experience:

• Operation of Rigid Dump Trucks (RDT), Front End Loaders (FEL), fixed plant, and blasthole drills will be highly regarded

SIMEC Mining Iron Ore has operations in South Australia and New South Wales. Our Iron Ore operation in South Australia’s Middleback Ranges South of Whyalla consists of three primary sites: Iron Baron, Iron Knob and the South Middleback Ranges.
