Treasury Analyst

About the role

Reporting to the Treasury Manager, Mining and Primary Steel, we are currently looking to appoint a Treasury Analyst to assist with the management of liquidity and financial markets risks of the Mining and Primary Steel (MPS) group of companies. Opportunity to take ownership of MPS group cash flow forecasting and cash management, financial risk exposure monitoring and the execution of Treasury transactions.

 

Your responsibilities will include

  • Working closely with management teams of the Business Units and the Finance function to manage group liquidity, including efficient short-term cash management
  • Ownership and optimisation of the 13-week short-term cash forecast, variance analysis and liquidity reporting
  • Support the development and implementation of the financial risk management strategy, including execution of financial market transactions
  • Bank engagement and relationship management
  • Management of the trade finance portfolio, including LC discounting
  • Optimise Treasury transaction costs 
  • Deliver Treasury reporting and drive opportunities for continuous improvement
  • Support Treasury long-term forecasting, budgeting and audit requirements

About your experience

You will be someone who has strong analytical and complex problem-solving skills, who is keen to embrace the challenge of working in a fast paced environment.  You are also confident, resourceful and have strong communications skills to be able to work effectively in a cross functional team at all levels of a global organisation.

 

Skills and qualifications required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Finance or Accounting
  • Accounting profession accreditation is an advantage but not essential
  • Experience within a corporate, mining or professional accounting services firm preferred
  • Advanced Excel modelling skills and modelling best practices
  • Proven skills with information systems, dashboards, reporting and monitoring performance
  • Strong financial and business acumen
  • Experience using SAP
