Head of Payroll and HR Systems
About The Role:
At OneSteel Manufacturing, we are driving significant transformation across one of Australia’s most iconic industrial businesses. This newly created position will be central in reshaping our future by modernising how we manage payroll, workforce data, systems and compliance across thousands of employees.
Reporting to the General Manager HR, you will lead one of our most significant people technology transformations through the integration of a new payroll and HR system. You will reinvent how payroll and HR systems operate across our business by strengthening governance, modernising platforms and delivering service excellence at scale.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the strategy, governance and operational delivery of Payroll and HRIS functions across the organisation
- Optimise and integrate HRIS, payroll and time & attendance systems to enhance data accuracy, automation and self-service
- Maintain strong payroll governance and compliance across Enterprise Agreements, Awards, Fair Work and taxation requirements
- Lead system and process improvement initiatives, including integration, upgrades, workflow enhancements and change management
- Provide specialist advice to senior leaders on payroll compliance, system capability, workforce data and organisational impacts
- Manage vendor performance and system reliability, ensuring effective contracts and continuous optimisation
- Champion data governance and analytics to ensure data integrity, privacy compliance and meaningful workforce insights.
About You:
You are a proactive, hands-on leader who thrives on solving complex challenges and creating clarity in high volume environments. You combine strong technical expertise in payroll and HR systems with a passion for people, process and technology.
