Electrical Apprentice Trainer

About The Role:

The purpose of the role is to contribute to the vision and purpose of OneSteel Manufacturing by providing strategic support for building trade capability and ensuring apprentices have the necessary skills and competence to perform their role safely and to the required standard to deliver operational performance.

Domestic Relocation included for those residing outside of Whyalla, which includes: 

  • Uplift of goods and relocation allowance (for individuals and immediate family)
  • Travel and temporary accommodation (up to 4 weeks) 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Developing, implementing and facilitating the Electrical apprentice competency training program, with the governance framework
  • Facilitating the apprentice curriculum, including practical, theoretical and assessments
  • Managing the apprentice workshop environment
  • Building relationships and coaching the business in the management of the process
  • Demonstrate safe work behaviours through leading by example, identifying and acting on opportunities to improve safety standards and performance
  • Engage with Maintenance teams to ensure appropriate and timely planning of required training

About You:

We are looking for Electrical Trades people that have worked in an industrial environment that will lead our apprentices to reach their full potential.

  • Electrical Trade qualification with an unrestricted electrical licence
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience within the Electrical trade
  • Experience as a facilitator and within a competency-based training environment preferred but not essential
  • High level literacy, including computer literacy
  • Strong communication and engagement skills
  • Understanding of and training experience in a manufacturing/mining operational environment
  • Demonstrated understanding of training methodologies and blended learning preferred but not essential
  • Demonstrated experience in writing documents and other literacy preferred but not essential
  • Understanding and experience in development of training and assessment materials
