This role is a project-driven catalyst for delivering commercial value to the Whyalla businesses through the strategic engagement of contractors and suppliers. You’ll manage high-impact sourcing and contract management projects from initiation to completion, ensuring every stage delivers measurable outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Scoping and executing project procurement activities that align with project strategies, capital plans, and business priorities.
  • Managing end-to-end contract lifecycles, from market analysis and supplier engagement to negotiation, implementation, and performance tracking.
  • Balancing project outcomes across financial returns, risk mitigation, speed to market, and operational efficiency.
  • Collaborating cross-functionally to ensure project alignment with broader business goals and stakeholder expectations.

 

You’re approachable, professional, and bring proven experience from a similar on-site role in mining, manufacturing, or heavy industry. About You:

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Certificate IV in Purchasing or similar or equivalent experience.
  • Experience in sourcing for, or management of, a complex organisational (manufacturing or industrial) environment.
  • Experience in negotiating large, complex contracts across a diverse organisation.
  • CIPS Qualification (Preferred).

 

Functional/ Technical Skills & Competencies:

  • High level negotiation and influencing skills
  • High Level written and verbal communication skills
  • High Level analytical skills with proven ability to model, analyse and summarise data
  • High level of computer literacy (including Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Power Point)
  • Demonstrated skills in negotiating and implementing contracts, including a thorough knowledge of legal requirements
  • Ability to work in a dynamic environment, to prioritise competing demands and to focus on delivery of outcomes
  • A flexible team-work approach to tasks and responsibilities
