Contract Manager - Raw Materials

About the role

Based in either Adelaide or Whyalla and supporting both SIMEC Iron Ore and Liberty Primary Steel Steelworks, this role will develop, implement and manage the category management plans in alignment with the overall procurement and business plans.  

You will enhance contracting partners to leverage strengths and value across the business with a category spend in excess of $400mill.

 

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Facilitate the sourcing event through the life of the goods and services sourcing process
  • Prepare and facilitate relevant RFX packages on a risk-based approach
  • Conduct regular contract performance reviews and monitor contract performance 
  • Coach, Mentor and provide advice on best practice contract and supplier management, contract risk management and assistance with disputes, claims and variations
  • Develop and implement Portfolio / Category Management plans to drive new value for the organisation
  • Research, understand and engage the market and market drivers both nationally and internationally 
  • Enhance contracting partners to leverage strengths and value across the business

 

About your experience

You are experienced in managing a complex organisational environment and are highly skilled in building strong internal and external relationships.
 

To be successful in this role, you will have: 

  • Essential - Strong background in a procurement in a similar manufacturing, mining, oil and gas or heavy industry environment with exposure to raw material sourcing
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • High level analytical skills with proven ability to model, analyse and summarise data
  • Demonstrated experience in sourcing for and/or management of large, complex contracts across a diverse organisation
  • Knowledge in market trends and drivers across national and international markets
