Business Intelligence Analyst

About the role

Reporting to the Shared Service Manager, Mining and Primary Steel, we are currently looking to appoint a Business Intelligence Specialist to design, manage, and deploy data systems, reports, and dynamic dashboards, as well as train users in these systems and the use of reports. The Business Intelligence Analyst is also responsible for extracting data from multiple sources, manipulating and validating data, and conducting root cause analysis as well as present analytic findings.
 

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Development of data methodologies, analytics and insights to drive decision making
  • Executing and reviewing data transformation and analytics work performed in the course of business engagements to ensure data quality, integrity and availability is maintained and it provides single source of truth
  • Lead the management of SAP Business Objects and Microsoft BI
  • Perform detailed analysis of complex business process requirements and provide appropriate system solutions; identify, interpret, validate and document customer requirements
  • Facilitate workshops to collect business requirements
  • Map client business requirements, processes and objectives; develops necessary product modifications to satisfy clients' needs
  • Document functional designs, test cases and results of BI systems
  • Act as liaison with client for troubleshooting: investigate, analyse, and solve software problems
  • Engage wider business stakeholders to identify business intelligence and analysis needs to support the decision making within the relevant functional domains
  • Define business problems and analytical requirements.

 

About your experience

You will be someone who has strong analytical and complex problem-solving skills who enjoys working in a fast paced, flexible environment.  You are also resourceful and have strong communications skills to be able to work effectively in a cross functional team at all levels of the organisation.

 

Skills and qualifications required:

  • Experience in SAP
  • University degree in Engineering or related discipline
  • Excellent proficiency of MS Power BI or similar BI tools
  • Proven skills with information systems, dashboards, reporting and monitoring performance
  • Experience in Business process mapping (BPM) and Business process re-engineering (BPR).
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
  • Exposure to mining and manufacturing business and operational processes.
  • High-energy and focus on urgent delivery
  • Ability to break down problems into components.
