About the role

Reporting to the Electrical Supervisor and based at our Acacia Ridge site, you will be responsible for the maintenance, fault-finding, repair, and optimisation of electrical and control systems critical to steel processing and heavy industrial operations. You’ll work across large-scale equipment, automation systems, drives, and plant machinery, ensuring reliability, safety, and operational efficiency.

 

What you will be doing:

  • Performing maintenance, operational checks, and routine inspections on plant equipment
  • Trouble-shoot, diagnose, and repair electrical and mechanical faults across heavy industrial plant
  • Supporting installation and commissioning of new equipment and projects
  • Monitoring plant performance with a focus on safety, reliability, and efficiency
  • Collaborating with the wider maintenance and production teams to improve processes

 

Shift: Rotating roster

  • Week 1: 2 x days / 2 x nights
  • Week 2: 3 x days
  • Week 3: 3 x nights

 

Pay Rate: $53.56 per hour + Allowances + Night shift loading + Overtime

What you will bring:

  • A current QLD Electrical Mechanic Licence
  • Proven experience in breakdown fault finding, repair, and maintenance - ideally within a manufacturing or industrial environment
  • Strong communication, time management, and teamwork skills
  • Solid computer literacy and comfort with modern maintenance systems
  • A commitment to learning, improving, and contributing to a culture where safety comes first

 

Experience with PLC control systems, industrial automation, AC/DC variable speed drives, and HMI/SCADA systems will be highly regarded, along with familiarity with SAP or similar maintenance management systems. Relevant licences such as crane, forklift, or EWP/WP are advantageous.
