Management Accountant
About the role
Reporting to the business Commercial Manager, you will work closely with the Newcastle based Management Accountant on the forecasting and budgeting process to ensure site processes and practices are aligned. You will be actively involved in identifying initiatives, and potential areas for growth, while providing ad-hoc support to the Sales & Marketing and Supply Chain departments.
As the Management Accountant you are responsible for the following keys areas within the Austube Mills Finance function:
- Site level budgeting, forecasting, reporting and ensuring the accuracy of the data and processes in those results
- Commercial communications within the Site Lead Team, assisting with financial awareness and systems training
- Commercial advice in relation to capital proposals, inventory management and product profitability
- Reviewing and implementing finance policies and procedures
- Site governance, including stocktakes and co-ordination of monthly manufacturing questionnaires

Skills and experience required for this role:
- Relevant Finance/ Accounting Qualification
- CA/CPA qualified and SAP experience is highly regarded
- 5+ years experience in a financial/ management accounting role
- Understanding of cost accounting, standard cost accounting and exposure to a range of accounting areas
- Strong financial evaluation/ analytical skills
- Experience performing variance analysis
- Advanced Excel skills, Power BI or similar
- Effective communication skills in engaging people across the business
- Ability to work in a team
