The Commercial Analyst role is responsible for achieving the Austube Mills objectives and strategies by supporting the Finance Team, ensuring financial performance and operational standards are maintained.

 

What you will be doing:

  • Manage the month-end financial close process for Austube Mills, including month-end reporting, P&L preparation and review, financial validation, balance sheet reconciliations and timely reporting to meet corporate deadlines.
  • Prepare and deliver monthly business reports and ad hoc financial analysis, ensuring accurate, standardised, and reliable reporting for Corporate, Commercial, and Business stakeholders.
  • Support audit and regulatory reporting requirements by providing accurate financial information and assisting with year-end audit processes.
  • Partner with finance and operational teams to provide financial analysis, business insights, and value-added support that drives informed decision-making.
  • Contribute to budgeting, forecasting, and rolling forecast processes, working closely with the Finance team and Management Accountants to support business planning. 
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives by identifying process enhancements, supporting cost-reduction projects, managing fixed assets and intercompany transactions, and providing backup support to the Commercial Finance Manager when required.

What you will bring:

  • Tertiary qualification in Accounting, Finance, Commerce or a related discipline (CA/CPA highly regarded).
  • Proven experience in finance, ideally with exposure to both management and financial accounting.
  • Strong commercial acumen with experience in financial analysis, business partnering and supporting operational decision-making.
  • Strong financial modelling and business case preparation skills (Power BI experience highly regarded).
  • Ability to identify key business drivers and provide insights in a complex business environment.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the confidence to influence senior leaders.
  • Manufacturing industry experience is desirable but not essential.
