Liberty Primary Steel is located at Whyalla, South Australia, approximately 400 kilometres north-west of Adelaide. Liberty Primary Steel produces billet for rolling in Liberty Steel and other manufacturing sites and for export, together with rail and structural steel products. Australia’s biggest integrated steelworks, it uses mainly magnetite iron ore-based feed, sourced from GFG Alliance’s SIMEC Mining iron ore mines in the region.
Liberty Bell Bay is the only manganese alloy plant in Australia and is located at Bell Bay near the mouth of the Tamar River in northern Tasmania. We produce approximately 250,000 tonnes of ferromanganese and silicomanganese annually.
