Liberty Primary Steel

Liberty Primary Steel is located at Whyalla, South Australia, approximately 400 kilometres north-west of Adelaide.

Australia’s biggest integrated steelworks, it uses mainly magnetite iron ore-based feed, sourced from GFG Alliance’s SIMEC Mining iron ore mines in the region.

Why consider Whyalla? Located on Eyre Peninsula’s Spencer Gulf in South Australia, Whyalla is an important hub and the region’s biggest city for retail shopping. Whyalla boasts a warm climate, accessible ocean shores and saltwater fishing. Whyalla represents South Australia’s foremost combination of industrial and nature-based experiences, with vivid scenery, small city charm, distinctive mystic-outback landscapes and year-round things to do.

Liberty Primary Steel produces billet for rolling in Liberty Steel and other manufacturing sites and for export, together with rail and structural steel products.
