Safety Business Partner

About the role

Reporting directly to the InfraBuild Steel Health, Safety and Environment Manager. You'll be energetic and passionate about working with and providing strong leadership to the business ensuring our WHS risks are managed.


Your responsibilities will include;
 

  • Providing guidance and oversight to ensure compliance to all applicable InfraBuild WHS Policies and Global Standards.

  • Developing local site WHS procedures and processes to meet InfraBuild Standards

  • Supporting the site manager and business managers by championing the site WHS committee, and sub committees, and providing guidance and support for WHS representatives.

  • Develop and deliver safety related training to the teams on site

  • Supporting completion of risk assessments related to WHS hazards

  • Facilitating return to work on site

 

The successful candidate will ideally have;
 

  • Relevant bachelor’s degree in engineering, science, health, safety, or a related field

  • Post Graduate qualifications in safety, or occupational hygiene

  • Cert IV – in Training and Assessment

  • Injury management and return to work

  • Expertise in safety programs across manufacturing, production, or service operations

  • Experience implementing lean principles and process improvement in an operational environment.

  • Have a thorough understanding of Australian WHS legislation, particularly with NSW context and subordinate legislation and codes of practice.

  • Strong analytical skills with demonstrated problem-solving ability.

  • Experience with regulators (e.g., SafeWork NSW, EPA, Department of Planning)

  • Experience with OHSAS 18001 and/or ISO 14001 and Self-insurance frameworks
