Category Manager - MRO

About the role

You are an experienced Category Manager, who thrives in an ever-changing environment open to new ideas. The role involves the development and implementation of category strategies, manage sourcing and contract management of goods across several categories in a heavy industrial environment

You will also drive strategic initiatives; identifying opportunities, investigate and lead project teams, to deliver saving outcomes through tendering and continuous improvement initiatives.

You will have the opportunity to shape this role and support the business, in making direct improvements to costs, systems and processes.

 

*This role can be based at Laverton VIC, Rooty Hill NSW or Newcastle.

 

Key responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Source, negotiate and manage supplier contracts ensuring that maximum value is provided by suppliers
  • Ensure that MRO spend contract coverage is maintained at >90% and contracts are frequently tested commercially
  • Develop category strategies and work with key operational and business stakeholders to ensure that key needs are identified and prioritised
  • Identify opportunities to improve, understand, and develop supply markets to determine what commercial levers should be applied
  • Develop MRO procurement strategies to support equipment utilisation, reliability and continuous improvement programs
  • Be the key driver of supplier relationships in MRO, engage and co-ordinate Infrabuild stakeholders at different levels (Exec, GMs Managers, Maintenance)
  • Work with critical suppliers and invest appropriate time in relationships to identify and execute strategic projects


About your experience

You are a proactive individual with a strong attention to detail. You enjoy working in a rapidly changing environment, and will be used to managing broad stakeholder groups across multiple projects concurrently.

The successful candidate will ideally be able to demonstrate;

  • Engineering tertiary qualification or mechanical/electrical trades
  • End to end procurement experience at a category management across MRO
  • Proven track record building and maintaining excellent relationships with diverse stakeholders
  • Excellent analytical skills and ability to provide insights and develop business cases
  • SAP experience ideal
